The building typology I want to research is library. I was inspired by this scene from the movie "The Time Machine" (2002).

 

Many of us have spent some time thinking about what the future will look like. Architects, in particular, are facing this question nowadays. You probably recognized the New York Public Library in this futuristic setting. However, the remarkable fact about this scene is what happens inside the library. The idea of a library being linked to the entire human knowledge intrigues me. Today, the Internet, Google and Wikipedia have already become indispensable, especially for students. What if one goes one step further, linking all written documents ever produced by mankind. Having the ability to research, track down, discover and of course learn and study in a designated space.
